Announcing the new single "Quicksilver" from the Billboard topping boys and girls in black.

A year after the release of their third consecutive top 10 Billboard single "Immortal", The Cruxshadows are showing once again why they are a force to be reckoned with, and an international leader in dark electronic music. Their new single "Quicksilver" is a hard hitting, dance floor dominating track with thought provoking lyrical depth, compelling melodies, and a chorus that will stay with you long after the music ends. The Cruxshadows bring their signature blending of punchy guitar, counterpoint violins, and synthesizer based textures together with words that tie the music to your world.

The single represents a herculean effort on the part of the band to continue to release new and meaningful music in the wake of setbacks that have occurred for them behind the scenes in 2009.  The song is about taking control of your life in the face of adversity, and seems to echo sentiments that are clearly close to their hearts.  As always with The Cruxshadows’ music the lyrics are not only personal, but colorful, heroic, and insightful.  The verses are steeped in strong historical and almost academic references that add depth and emphasis to the subject matter.  Lead singer, Rogue, uses elements of Alchemy, literature, and myth to weave a metaphor for self determination and personal triumph that seems to empower the listener with every word. 

The disc Contains three versions of the title track, including a stellar dance version called Quicksilver (Dancefloor Transformation), as well as two additional new songs- Avalanche and Roland.  The new B-sides could have easily been released as singles themselves, and show a development musically and artistically that promises great things for the future.  Avalanche is garnering play in danceclubs across the US right along with Quicksilver, and Roland uses reference to the Medieval French knight of the same name to focus on issues of self sacrifice and courage.  Despite being a single, this CD is not to be missed.  Fans of the band, both new and old, will certainly recognize the elements that have made the band so popular for so long.

Quicksilver is the first release by the band on their own imprint, Wishfire Records, and the bands fourth track to place on Billboard in the top 5.  It is their third #1 on the Billboard Hot Dance Single sales and their second #2 on the overall Billboard Hot Singles Sales Chart.

In late November of 2009 the band will release a video to go with their new track, and a full length will follow at an as-of-yet-undetermined date in 2010.    Look for full page advertisements in Wizard Magazine in late November and December.
